Last week, Adam and I found ourselves back in Nashville, cutting our six-month tour of Europe down to three. What led us unexpectedly back to the States was an issue with our house, but we’ve found that it was actually pretty serendipitous. We’ve hit the ground running and are making the best of the two-plus months we have ahead of us stateside before we head back for a couple of final weeks in Europe in November and then return to Seoul.
As you know, we released Laughing Tree Lullabies, Vol.1 in Seoul this June. We’re so proud of our creation, but creating it was just the beginning. We’re finding that two months in Nashville will be just what our record needs to break through the noise and become people’s favorite evening-time soundtrack.
Here are some of the things we’re up to:
Our partnership with Sweet Sleep has taken flight. We made our first donation to Sweet Sleep from the CDs you’ve bought so far (thank you!) and then donated 200 copies of Laughing Tree Lullabies, Vol. 1 to be given out to each guest of the Sweet Sleep Soiree on September 17th (see previous post. Last I heard, there are still a few seats left.). Sweet Sleep will also be sending out Laughing Tree Lullabies as thanks to any new Bed Heads that sign up to support their work regularly. We are so glad to be in the position to raise awareness and money for kids in need of a safe, cozy place to sleep.
Adam and I are also planning some Laughing Tree Lullabies listening parties and concerts around Nashville and the Chicago area. So far, one date has been set at Fairytales, a children’s bookshop in East Nashville, on October 17 (stay tuned for details). Several other dates and settings are in the works.
On our return to the states, I got a new toy… a looping pedal, and I’m having too much fun singing with myself! Stop by here again for the dates of our events, and you’ll know where to go to be lulled– live.
Laughing Tree isn’t just about our lullabies, though. Adam is working on a new series of photo transfers from our travels in Europe, and he will be arranging a show while we’re in town. We’re also going to start doing some voice-overs for audio books with a company here in Nashville. We’re having a great time!
Thanks so much for stopping by Laughing Tree. What can we create together?
