We just had a great few weeks up in the Chicago area. We saw some good friends, had a lot of fun with my parents, and vegged out. We also visited a few great, little boutiques around the western suburbs that are now carrying Laughing Tree Lullabies, Vol. 1.
If you’re starting your Christmas shopping (hey, it’s not too early), stop by one of the following spots to support local vendors and artisans.
Arbor Avenue Antiques 100 Arbor Avenue, West Chicago
Arbor Avenue Antiques is in downtown West Chicago, in a beautiful old house. It’s an artfully arranged shop and doesn’t have any of the junky clutter of other antique shops. It feels like a boutique. Much of what they sell is antique, but it mixes seamlessly with other new products by local artisans (like our nostalgic lullaby CD). The owner, Frances has a huge heart, and she is enabling us to donate more to Sweet Sleep from our sales at her shop by taking no commission!
La Spiaza 114 N. Main Street, Wheaton
This is a super-cozy, super-local cafe in downtown Wheaton that sells delicious sandwiches and hot beverages. They also sell a nice assortment of local music and visual art. This is where we had our Lullabies and Lattes event last week.
Special Delivery Baby Shop 220 S. Third Street, Geneva
If you’ve never been to downtown Geneva, it’s definitely worth the trip. It’s full of great, independently owned, arty boutiques. Special Delivery fits right in. It’s a gorgeous maternity and baby boutique, housed in a grand, white columned building. Their offerings are beautiful and seem to be hand-picked to fit their soft aesthetic.
The Stork’s Cradle 210 W. Wesley, Wheaton
Like Special Delivery, The Stork’s Cradle is a beautiful baby boutique, but they seem to specialize in more hand-made, whimsical items. They’re located in downtown Wheaton, very near the post office. It’s a cozy little shop, and the music draws you in from the street. Tell Bonnie that we sent you.
Thanks to these new friends for partnering with us to share our Laughing Tree Lullabies with the world! Happy shopping.
